The Women's Studies Program @ Otterbein
The women's studies program promotes interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of the history, contributions, issues, and conditions affecting women in society and gender as a system.
Courses in the program explore the nature and effects of gender in various national and global contexts and connect it to other important identity categories including race, class, and sexuality. In doing so, the minor helps students develop critical thinking and interaction skills and enhance their knowledge of issues facing diverse societies today.

Mission
The mission of the Women's Studies Minor Program is to promote interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of the history, contributions, conditions, and issues affecting women in society and gender as a system by:
1.	coordinating Women's Studies courses, special academic events, and service learning;
2.	promoting awareness of international and global trends on the status of women;
3.	increasing students' interaction skills, critical thinking skills, and their understanding of issues facing diverse societies today;
4.	providing outreach opportunities for the campus community.
