Otterbein Colleges requires that all seniors in our Allied Health, Health Education, Health Promotion and Fitness and Sport Management programs complete an internship. This opportunity allow students to integrate their formal academic preparation with a quarter long practical work experience.
The goals of the internship program are as follows:
Internships are full time (45 hour/week) commitments designed to give students pre-professional associations with sponsoring organizations. The duration of the internship is based on the number of credit hours in which the student is enrolled. Academic credit given meets institutional criteria for a full time student. Internship opportunities are available during the entire calendar year.
Otterbein's strength in this area and unusual depth of prospective internship site offerings derive from its location. Columbus, the capital city, and its surrounding communities offer many opportunities for students to gain access to a wide variety of work settings, including government, corporations, commercial, recreational, and public and private agencies.
