Joe has been in his current position at Otterbein since the summer of 2005. He has been primarily responsible for the coverage of women's basketball, baseball, and assisting the Head Athletic Trainer with coverage of football since he arrived.
Joe completed his undergraduate studies in athletic training here at Otterbein College in 2000, and received a Master's in Education in athletic training from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 2001. While completing his graduate studies, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA. He has been a certified athletic trainer since 2000 and a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the NSCA since 2005. He has experience as a head athletic trainer at the high school level as well as in the corporate setting.
Joe has been involved with many organizations in Ohio, doing presentations on management of baseball injuries for the Ohio Baseball Coaches Association, as well as strength and conditioning talks and workshops for the Ohio Department of Education and for OAHPERD. He was also a speaker at the Ohio Athletic Trainer's Association annual meeting and symposium in 2007 where he spoke on pitching mechanics and the prevention and rehabilitation of the throwing shoulder.
Joe currently lives in Westerville.
