Fifth Annual Dean Van Sant Leadership Lecture Series

The Fifth Annual Dean Van Sant Leadership Lecture Series will present a keynote address by Dan Bureau of the National Survey of Student Engagement at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in room 114 of Roush Hall, 27 S. As Otterbein President C. Brent DeVore prepares to retire in June 2009 after 25 years of exemplary service to the College, the Board of Trustees has announced that the residence hall currently known as The Suites will be officially named C. Otterbein College will switch to a semester system in fall 2011, after the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the proposal at their Oct. 11 meeting. Read more.

Ride with Otterbein Pride

Cardinal pride is hitting the road with new Otterbein College logo license plates. The new plates will be available through the Ohio BMV beginning October 1. Drivers can indicate that they want an Otterbein license plate at renewal time. In addition to regular renewal fees, an extra $35 will be charged for the Otterbein plate, $25 of which is given to the general Otterbein College scholarship fund.

Otterbein Ranks High in U.S. News & World Report

In the 2009 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges," Otterbein College earned the ninth highest peer assessment (academic reputation) score in the Universities-Master's (Midwest) category and earned the 15th highest overall score among its 140 peers.

"This is our first full year in this category and we are especially pleased to be ranked 9th out of 65 in peer assessment (academic reputation)," said Otterbein College President Brent DeVore. Some peers in the category include Butler, Drake and Xavier Universities. Details.
