Expand. Explore. Excel. Otterbein's New Science Center

Otterbein College has a long tradition of offering an excellent education in the sciences. Our science graduates have a 90% acceptance rate for medical and dental schools and a 95% acceptance rate for graduate schools. At Otterbein, we believe in science literacy for everyone; thus, science is an important part of the liberal arts at Otterbein.

It's time to modernize and expand. The science programs are housed in two buildings: McFadden Hall, built in 1919, and Schear Hall, constructed in 1970. Only maintenance has been done since then, and the student body has grown significantly. We must move now to build a modern facility equipped with current technology and equipment that will help our students excel.

We've got the solution. In June 2007, construction began on a $20 million project to modernize and expand the current facilities and purchase new equipment. Features of the new science center include:

The new facility will bring the different science disciplines together to form an even stronger, more integrated science program that is ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
